December in Valencia

14 December 2022

Will you celebrate this year’s festivities in Valencia? We are happy to share our favourite spots for December with you!

First of all, Plaza de La Reina is one of Valencia’s most Christmassy squares. Enjoy the arts and crafts christmas market and Valencia’s life size nativity scene in front of the cathedral. Fun to know that this square has just been reopened after it has been made fully pedestrian, a big win for the city!

Mercado Central has always been one of our favourite places in the city. However, now even more with the festive stars hanging down from the ceiling and the miniature nativity scene which they have placed in the middle of the market. This hand-crafted scene displays a street market with many products that you can find as well in the real stands. While you are at Mercado Central, we recommend you to try Spanish turrón. December is turrón-time!

Besides Plaza de la Reina, there are winter activities organised at Plaza del Ayuntamiento. Here you can have fun ice-skating or visiting the flower stalls. Don´t forget to stop by Valencia’s town hall; inside this beautiful building you will find another nativity scene.

Like every year Mercado de Colon is also turned into a beautiful Christmas scenery with a little market, a nativity scene and ofcourse a huge Christmas tree.

Last but not least, treat yourself with Spanish churros and a cup of hot chocolate. A few recommended places are Santa Catalina, Fabián, Horchatería Daniel and Valor.

Let us know if you need any further recommendations, we are more than happy to help you at our reception. Welcome to wintery Valencia!
